As DC schools reaffirm its commitment to the safety and health of our children, we are all concerned that while at school, we provide safe drinking water for our students. We are pleased to announce that the water at Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy campuses are safe and lead-free.
Although MMBDA provides filtered water systems at both of its campuses, the water was tested to ensure that water students use on a daily basis to wash their hands and otherwise use is safe, with the assistance of the DC Public Charter School Board, water was tested at both campuses.
The PCSB contracted with Microbac Laboratories, who tested all water sources at the school. The results that were sent back to the school via PCSB, showed no lead. We are very happy to receive this news as we continue to create happy, productive, safe, creative and thoughtful learning environments for our children!
